How well do students practise a healthy lifestyle?

As university students specifically in UBD (based on our survey), they face challenges both in their education and their leisure lives, it is important for them to practice a healthy lifestyle by exercising enough and eating a balance diet.

As we can see from how many times the students exercise in a week, majority exercises only once a week. When most doctors or any health experts would advise to exercise thrice a week.  Also the fruits and vegetables intake per day, majority is also thrice a week. Although this does not affect most of the students’ health since our findings are based on health problems, majority reported none. But it seems this can be clearly proven since in the past 12 months, 70% of the students have not undergone any medical check up to make sure they are not having any health problems. How would they be sure if they are not experiencing any health problems?

In terms of improvement most students suggested that there should be cheaper sporting facilities in the country and school or university canteens should provide healthy food. Especially since most students spend most of their time in the campus in the morning and during lunch time, they would usually depend on canteen food. Also it’s best for students to undergo health check ups to make sure there are no diseases or health complications detected or better yet to prevent and treat if any of those were detected. Although it is a blessing that the local government hospital provides free medicines and services to the locals, we students should not take our health for granted.

Basically, based on our findings it seems that some improvements should be made to improve the students’ lifestyle into a much healthier one.
